Монастырь, исторический монумент, ассоциация, вина Кот дю Рон, гостевые комнаты и культурные мероприятия. В прошлом Шартрёз де Вальбон был монастырем монахов-отшельников Картезианского ордена, чьи строения занимают большую площадь. Основанный в 1203*, монастырь расположен в небольшой долине, в самом сердце тысячелетнего леса, хранящего в себе редкие для Средиземноморского региона лесные породы. Эта долина находится в сообществе агломерации Гард роданьен /Gard rhodanien, департаменте Гард региона Окситания.

Здесь расположены: монашеская церковь, большая (355м по периметру) и маленькая обители (начала XIII-ого века), многочисленные часовни. Несколько башен, а также крыша монашеской церкви и ее колокольня, покрыты лакированной черепицей в бургундском стиле, придающей архитектурному ансамблю наиболее живописный для провинциального монастыря облик.
