The monastery
Founded in 1204, the Carthusian monastery of Valbonne is located at the heart of an exceptional forest in the Provence hills. Up until 1901 a community of monks lived in this monastery, following the rules of Saint Bruno.
From the Conventual Church to the Chapel of Relics, through the Small Cloister, 13th century, to the Grand Cloister, 350 m, and after a visit to a monk's cell, one can imagine the life of the Carthusian Order within the site, and discover their universe of silence and solitude.
